Phil struggles to hold back the tears, as he finally admits to his son, just how special he is.Roxy comforts Ben, by giving him a talk about mums and dads and how can mess things up.Archie also tells Phil that his uncle wasnít the only Mitchell that was handy with his fists ñ he begs Phil not to ëhand down the miseryí. He tells Phil how his granddad used to threaten him and Eric. Archie begins to tell Phil about his Dad, Eric, and how he went off with Maureen Loftus. Archie says that the passionate affair lasted for a couple of yearsBen retreats to his room and removes his hearing aid, trying to drown out the sound of his dadís outburst, which aggravates Philís mood even further. Roxy tries to calm him down but Phil continues telling them what he went through. Angered, he makes a beeline for Benís room. Archie stands up to Phil - heís going to have to go through Archie if he tries to hurt Ben but Phil doesnít think its any of his businessRonnie makes it clear to Archie that heís not wanted. Hurt by the rejection, Archie snaps back. Sean enters to wind up Archie even further. At the end of his tether, Archie goes to gather his things, but is stopped by Phil, who has something he wants to say to Archie. Both Mitchellís back down and offer Archie an apology. Peggyís had time to think about everything and then declares that, actually, she really does want to marry Archie! Roxy is over the moon - But Ronnie looks like she is about to erupt.
