'Coronation Street' has seen complaints made after a same-sex kiss on the soap.
The ITV soap showed an embrance between Todd Grimshaw (Bruno Langley) and Marcus Dent (Charlie Condou) last week, which caused figures of around 100 viewers to complain to Ofcom, as the scene was aired before 8pm when children were watching.
The episode saw openly gay Todd finally seduce Marcus after pursuing him for weeks and the pair headed to the bedroom after kissing on the sofa.
While most of the complaints were about the risqué scene being broadcast before the watershed, some did include homophobia in their content.
We have spoken to a representative of Ofcom who have confirmed they won't be investigating the complaints.
An insider insisted to the paper: "The vast majority of the audience have no trouble with this. It's real."
This isn't the first time Todd has caused controversy on the show, emerging as Weatherfield's first gay character and initially leaving the street in 2005 after he came out to then girlfriend Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien).
