Jack P. Shepherd "can't believe" his 'Coronation Street' alter-ego is to be made homeless.
The 25-year-old actor plays bad boy David Platt in the soap, but joked it is "wrong" that his character, who caused his half-brother Nick Tilsley's (Ben Price) car crash leaving him with a brain injury, is shown the door from his own abode.
Speaking to RadioTimes.com, he quipped: "I think David's done a lot worse in previous stories. Everything he's done in this storyline is completely justified.
"The rest of the family is wrong. I can't believe David gets kicked out - it's his house. David's on the mortgage, they're not. David's the dad and Nick's not. Plus he loses his job. I just can't work out why David is the villain."
Jack has grown facial hair for David's latest predicament because he admits "growing a beard is what you do when you're homeless on a TV drama".
David sought revenge on Nick after finding out he slept with his wife Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) and there was a possibility the bistro boss was the father of his first child, newborn daughter Lily, but a DNA test has since revealed the hostile hairdresser is in fact the little one's dad.
David's ex-girlfriend Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) takes pity on him and moves him into her house which results in her boyfriend Tommy Duckworth (Chris Fountain) leaving Weatherfield suddenly. Tommy will exit the soap off-screen on Wednesday (23.10.13).
The storyline comes after Chris was sacked from the show in August after explicit videos of him rapping about rape and violence under the moniker of masked MC The Phantom emerged online.
