Ian Kelsey is set to star in 'Coronation Street'.
The 49-year-old star - who is known for playing Dave Glove in 'Emmerdale' and most recently Patrick Spiller in 'Casualty' - has been cast as the soap's new villain, Vinny.
Referring to the soap's fictional pub The Rovers Return, he wrote on Twitter: "Cherry broken today in the Rovers."
Vinny is set to cause a stir on the cobbles when he rocks up as an old associate of dodgy builder Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre) to help the conman run his girlfriend Eileen Grimshaw's (Sue Cleaver) son Jason Grimshaw's (Ryan Thomas) business following his recent departure.
However, things aren't set to turn out too well for the blonde cab worker as she's continuously ignored her neighbours' warnings to stay away from the bad boy after he arrived on the street to terrorise Anna Windass (Debbie Rush).
In 2014, Pat blackmailed Anna into sleeping with him and caused her to split with her ex Owen Armstrong (Ian Puleston-Davies).
Although he's busy filming his arrival now, Ian isn't expected to appear on screens until August.
Meanwhile, Ian is no stranger to appearing on a soap as he has also appeared in 'Down to Earth' and 'Doctors'.
