Ashley (Steven Arnold) arrives home from work to find Claire (Julia Haworth) in a state of panic cutting up their bank and credit cards. She explains that someone has cleared out their accounts and she can't get to see the bank until tomorrow. She is stunned when Ashley tells her that no one has got access to their accounts - he has used all the money to shore up the business. He assures her they will work it out and she tells him that they will get through it together.Audrey (Sue Nicholls) is trying to look after an increasingly distraught Maria (Samia Smith) when she finds herself ambushed in her own home by Gail (Helen Worth) and Bill (Peter Armitage) who demand to know what is going on with Ted Page. She explains that she was going to telll them both about it but wanted to take her time. Meanwhile unaware of what Maria has just gone through she takes Bill's advice and lets Liam (Rob James Collier) know where she is. He comes round to see her but Maria won't speak to him. Audrey agrees to let her stay but is stunned when she sorts out Maria's overnight bag and finds some very disturbing things inside.Liz (Beverley Callard) is relaxed with Vernon (Ian Reddington) out of the way and Harry (Jack Ellis) wastes no time in offering his services behind the bar - much to Liz and Lloyd's (Craig Charles) amusement. But Liz is pleased when he invites her to the opening of a new bookies.
