After being caught skiving school, Ryan (Ben Thompson) reveals to Liam (Rob James-Collier) how upset he is about Michelle (Kym Ryder) telling Alex (Dario Coates) he can stay. Meanwhile, Steve (Simon Gregson) has becoming increasingly frustrated and he and Liam agree to try and make her see sense. However, when Steve tells her she's putting Alex’s interests over Ryan's and he needs to leave - his living with them is causing too much pain for everyone. She reluctantly agrees to make a choice and calls Wendy. How will Alex react? After a tough day at the restaurant spent reassuring Leanne (Jane Danson) they can get over their financial problems, Paul (Tom Hudson) is shocked when he’s bundled into the bookies on his way back to the street by Dan (Matthew Crompton) who reminds him the deadline has passed. Paul cockily tells him he only has the clothes on his back, and Dan comments he likes his idea – he’s taking his clothes. As Paul is left in the street wearing only his Superman underpants, he’s forced to agree to pay off his debt. However, Jack's (William Tarmey) concerned when he spots Paul creeping in semi-naked. David (Jack P Shepherd) is delighted that he and Tina (Michelle Keegan) seem to be back on track but Tina admits to Gail (Helen Worth) that she feels terrible about lying to him. Gail reassures her she's doing the right thing and tells her David's more fragile than she realises and informs her about David’s attempted suicide last year. Tina’s shocked, but has Gail persuaded her to keep the abortion a secret?Claire (Julia Haworth) is worried about Chesney (Sam Aston) when she finds out he hasn’t been turning up for work at the Kabin as Kirk (Andrew Whyment) has been forgetting to wake him up. Meanwhile, Chesney has received a letter from school requesting a meeting with Cilla as he's frequently late for school and failing to hand in homework. Will Kirk pull his act together? Elsewhere, Roy (David Neilson) returns from Africa and is impressed to find everything as he left it. Becky (Katherine Kelly) admits she’ll be sad to leave the flat and return to her own pitiful abode.
