As Gail (Helen Worth) lies motionless at the bottom of the stairs, David (Jack P Shepherd) is convinced she's dead, too terrified to check if she's okay, he runs out of the back door. Meanwhile, Audrey (Sue Nicholls) makes her way over to find David after he failed to come back after lunch, and is stunned when she spots Gail lying on the floor. She's relieved to find that Gail is alive and immediately calls an ambulance. Meanwhile, a panicked David makes his way to Tina’s (Michelle Keegan) and tells her he knows about the abortion. As the reality of what's happened sinks in David desperately tries to find a way out and suggests to Tina that they run away together. Tina's unconvinced and when David gets a call from Audrey telling him his mum’s been badly injured, he's relieved that she's survived the fall but feels wrought with guilt. As he arrives at the hospital to see his mum unconscious and in a terrible condition he's horrified at what he's done. Will he come clean? Carla (Alsion King) arrives home to find that an apologetic Tony (Gray O'Brien) has made a candle-lit dinner. As they eat, he tries to probe her about whether there's ever been anything between her and Liam (Rob James-Collier) – asking why their relationship is so important to her. Carla eventually admits that she did kiss Liam once and Tony plays it cool, however when he goes into the kitchen he's unable to contain his anger and smashes the wine glasses in the sink. Does Tony have a dark side? Michelle (Kym Ryder) feels hurt when Ryan (Ben Thompson) comes back from an outing with Nick (Robert Horwell) and tells her he'd like to see him again. Elsewhere, Paul (Tom Hudson) is shocked when Leanne (Jane Danson) reveals she’s thinking of selling the restaurant and Kelly (Tupele Dorgu) is stunned when Carla (Alison King) sacks her after she comes clean but Vicki (Wanda Opalinska) manages to get her reinstated.
