David (Jack P Shepherd) is on tenterhooks as they gather round Gails (Helen Worth) bedside, but as she starts to speak and it becomes clear she has no recollection of the fall and much to David's relief, the last thing she can remember is having an argument with Jason (Ryan Thomas). Jasons called into the station and tells the police his side of the story he did have a row with Gail and she did slap him but he never pushed her down the stairs. The police officer reveals he's the only suspect at the moment and asks him to think if there's anyone else who'd want to harm Gail. He reveals that David once fantasised about killing his mum but the police are sceptical when he reveals hes the only one who heard it. Will Jason end up taking the blame for David's crime? Will Gail remember what really happened? Carla (Alison King) is surprised when she arrives home to discover they're having a dinner party. The evening is a success and as they all exchange stories about how romantic their partners are, Tony (Gray O'Brien) shocks everyone when he asks Carla to marry him. Carla assumes it's a drunken gesture and the atmosphere is awkward as everyone waits for her to accept. As Carla hesitiates, Tony produces a huge diamond engagement ring and she finally accepts. However, as everyone congratulates her, its clear Carla feels she was set up by Tony. Will they make it down the aisle?Paul (Tom Hudson) is jealous when Dan (Matthew Crompton) takes Leanne (Jane Danson) for a drink in the Rovers.
