As the police officer reveals that Alex (Dario Coates) has been shoplifting food, probably in a bid for attention, Michelle (Kym Ryder) is forced to take responsibility for him and admit she is his mum. Michelle is annoyed that he's gone to such lengths in order to stay at the Rovers and Steve (Simon Gregson) is adamant its not permanent. Alex explains he’d rather sleep rough than stay with Wendy or Nick - he’s never felt he belonged with them and he'll only run away again. When his parents arrive, Wendy (Jane Slavin) is defiant and refuses to let him stay with Michelle, however, realising that he genuinely doesn't want to come home Wendy reluctantly agreees to let him stay fpr a cpuple of days – much to Alex’s delight. Meanwhile, Ryan (Ben Thompson) has been getting increasingly upset by all the gossip that Norris has been spreading and is furious when he learns he’s going to have to share not only his mum but also his house with Alex. Has Michelle made the right move? Tyrone (Alan Halsall) and Paul (Tom Hudson) have turned the Duckworth’s upside down in the search for the winning betting slip but to no avail and Harry (Jack Ellis) refuses his plea to give him the money without a ticket. Meanwhile, Tyrone's worried that Jack suspects him of stealing the betting slip and won't want to sell the house to them anymore and when Jack tells them he needs to have a chat with them later they're concerned, convinced that he’s going to change his mind about selling the house. However, they’ve got it all wrong and Jack tells a delighted Molly and Tyrone that he wants to get the house sale moving again - the solicitor is drawing up the paperwork.Elsewhere, Violet (Jenny Platt) is getting increasingly exasperated with Sean’s (Antony Cotton) excessive baby talk and intrusion into her life and Sean’s still troubled about the home birth – but reckons he has a solution. What is he plotting?
