Michelle (Kym Ryder) and Steve (Simon gregson) rush into A&E relieved to find Ryan (Ben Thompson) battered and bruised but okay. Ryan reveals that he went to see Alex (Dario Coates) and as they fought in the road Alex was clipped by a passing car. As Nick (Robert Horwell) and Wendy (Jane Slavin) arrive back from seeing Alex and suggest they all sit down and work out what to do next, Ryan decides he doesn’t want to see Nick and Wendy and waits in the car. As they try and makes sense of the situation Michelle reluctantly agrees to ask Ryan to take a DNA test and agrees to take one herself. They decide that the boys have to make their own minds up about whether they want to see their biological parents and is shocked when Ryan reveals that he wants to take the test to prove that she is her mum. How will Ryan feel when its proved Michelle's not her real mum. How will Michele feel if Ryan wants to see Wendy and and will Michelle be able to ignore the fact that she has a biological son? Meanwhile, Tyrone (Alan Halsall), Paul (Tom Hudson) and Molly (Vicky Binns) are worried that Jack (William Tarmey) isn't up to organising the funeral but are relieved when they arrive home to find him writing a list of things he thinks Vera would have liked at her funeral. Is Jack slowly managing to come to terms with his loss? Elsewhere, Darryl (Jonathan Dixon) asks Lauren (Lucy Evans) to go a gig with him at the student union. Flattered by the attention, she agrees to go out with him. Is there a budding new romance on the street? Also Kelly (Tupele Dorgu) is envious of Vicky's (Wanda Opalinska) earnings from the knickers party.
