Ryan (Ben Thompson) is furious about Nick's (Robert Horwell) claim that he was swapped at birth and as he makes to run home, Nick stuffs a piece of paper with his contact details into his pocket. Back at the Rovers, Ryan’s mates are waiting for him to kick start the party when he bursts in telling Michelle (Kym Ryder) she has to call the police - the mad stalker has told him he's his dad. As he explains what's happened he can tell from her and Steve's (Simon Gregson) reaction that his “stalker” wasn’t lying. Michelle takes a bewildered Ryan into the back and reveals that there's a chance Nick's story is true but it doesn't change anything between them and she was just waiting for the right time to tell him. Unable to cope with the shocking news that Michelle might not be his mum, Ryan walks out of the pub leaving Michelle’s devastated. Arriving at Nick’s house where Alex is enjoying his own birthday, Ryan is stunned when he comes face to face with Alex and recognisees his likeness to his late dad. After giving him some space to get over the shock, Michelle reassures Ryan that he’s her son and he always will be and biology isn’t going to change that. However, will carrying on as normal be easier said than done?Tony (Gray O'Brien) is impatient as he waits for Carla (Alison King) to finish work so they can go for lunch and angrily queries why she was so happy to drop everything to take Liam (Rob James-Collier) over the road. Carla mocks him for being jealous but Tony’s not happy and storms over to the pub. Meanwhile, Maria (Samia Smith) arrives home and her fury over Carla is forgotten when Liam enthuses over all the wedding plans. Explaining she was worried he felt she was rushing him into marriage by bringing the wedding forward, Maria’s pleased when he protests that he loves her and wants them to be husband and wife asap. Maria's worries are assuaged for the time being, but will she go through with the wedding with these niggling doubts over his commitment? Tyrone (Alan Halsall) is stunned when Molly (Vicky Binns) tells him that because of their financial situation with the new house she thinks they should keep Paul (Tom Hudson) on as a lodger. Paul’s taken aback by their offer and admits it would be great if they could sort things out. Will this be a fresh start for the quarrelling lads? Elsewhere, Jamie (Rupert Hill) and Violet (Jenny Platt) are frustrated when Sean (Antony Cotton) gatecrashes their chat about baby names.
