It’s the morning of Ryan’s (Ben Thompson) 16th birthday and as Michelle (Kym Ryder) continues to dodge Nick’s (Robert Horwell) calls claiming she doesn't want to spoil Ryan's birthday by telling him the truth, she admits to Steve (Simon Gregson) that she feels she's betraying Ryan if she even thinks about Alex. Later that day, when Ryan's leaving school Nick approaches him and offers him a birthday gift. Freaked out, Ryan panics and threatens to call the police, telling Nick he knows he's not allowed near him. Nick reveals to a shocked Ryan that his mum has been lying to him and when Ryan demands that he explain himself, Nick unwillingly tells him he’s his father. Maria (Samia Smith) gets busy with wedding preparations, and leaves Liam (Rob James-Collier) at the house to compile his guest list for the big day. However, boredom kicks in and he decides to go into work, when Maria sees Carla (Alison King) looking smug as she helps a hobbling Liam (Rob James-Collier), she’s irritated and immediately jumps in and takes over. Meanwhile, Tony (Gray O'Brien) is getting increasingly jealous and when Carla (Alison King) tells him she’s too busy to go to the pub, he tells her he’ll wait until she’s free. Will Maria continue to let Carla wind her up and will Tony put up with his girlfriend showering so much attention on Liam? Elsewhere, Rosie (Helen Flanagan) is still having a tough time at school and when Sophie (Brooke Vincent) joins in with taunting her sister about her affair, Rosie snaps and a physical fight escalates. Sally (Sally Whittaker) is called into school after returning from visiting Kevin and as she marches the bickering sisters home she’s emotionally exhausted. How will she heal the rift between her daughters without Kevin’s support? Elsewhere, Paul (Tom Hudson) takes it upon himself to start looking for a new place to live after the Duckworths reveal Tyrone (Alan Halsall) and Molly (Vicky Binns) are buying number 9. And Sean (Antony Cotton) hides his upset when Lauren (Lucy Evans) tells him Violet (Jenny Platt) and Jamie (Rupert Hill) have been picking baby names.
