Maria (Samia Smith) struggles to explain to the location of the ravine to the rescue team and eventually heads out with them to retrace her steps. Meanwhile, as Liam (Rob James-Collier) lays motionless at the bottom of the gorge with Ozzy shivering at his side the rescue helicopter casues him to stir. After he’s winched into a chopper, the paramedics are relieved to find a faint pulse. Maria rushes to the hospital and to find Liam is seriously ill but stable. However, when the nurse reassures her that his chances are good and reveals that he's clearly in love with her because he was crying out for her when he was semi-conscious, Maria’s initially delighted by the news until the nurse refers to her as Carla. It's Rosie's (Helen Flanagan) first day back at school and she's already getting a hard time from Sophie (Brooke Vincent). Sensing that everyone's talking about her, Rosie tries her best to hold her head up high, but she’s clearly upset. At the factory, Sally (Sally Whittaker) gets into a fight with Janice (Vicky Entwistle) after she calls Rosie a cheap tart and is furious when Carla (Alison King) tells her to take the rest of the day off. How long will Rosie’s scandal haunt the Websters? After being woken in the early hours of the morning with the news of Liam's accident, Michelle (Kym Ryder) decides she has to go to the Lakes. Steve (Simon Gregson) reminds her that her DNA test is scheduled for today, but Michelle asserts that she can't think about it now and will rearrange the test and tell Nick later. But how long can Michelle keep putting this off? Elsewhere, Jack (William Tarmey) is frustrated that he can no longer afford any suitable properties in Blackpool so Tyrone (Alan Halsall) resolves to help him and sets off for Blackpool.
