As Paul (Tom Hudson) resumes his hunt through Jack’s (William Tarmey) tin he slyly pockets the deeds to the house and a few bills.Later, Leanne's (Jane Danson) confused when Paul is showing the bank’s business manger round the restaurant and insists he calls him Jack. Paul and the bank manager shake on the deal, but Leanne's concerned when she discovers that he's 'borrowed' Jack's identity to raise the money against his house. However, desperate for investment and with little choice but to trust him, Leanne declares Paul as a partner. Later that evening, Paul tells unsuspecting Jack and Vera (Elizabeth Dawn) his good news and they're delighted that he's going to be sticking around. But how will they feel if they discover that their precious grandson has betrayed them?Meanwhile, Eileen's (Sue Cleaver) still on a high after her successful date with Jerry (Michael Starke) and ranks even higher in his estimations when she spots Mel (Emma Edmondson) being hassled by two lads at the takeaway and steps in to throw them out. Jerry's extremely grateful for Eileen's help and as he walks her home, she accepts his invitation for a romantic meal at his house the following night and is pleased when he moves in for a kiss…

Elsewhere, Casey (Zoe Henry) tells an uncomfortable Ashley (Steven Arnold) that she’s moving away for good.

He’s shocked by the realisation that he’ll miss her, but to her dismay he doesn't take the bait and implore her to stay.

However, Ashley clearly still has feelings for Casey, will he act upon them?

Liz (Beverly Callard) and Vernon (Ian Reddington) are delighted to have the pub to themselves when Steve (Simon Gregson) and Michelle (Kym Ryder) head off to Ireland on a family holiday.
