David Platt's back to his mischievous ways in the coming weeks on Coronation Street, launching a hilarious attack on his grandmother Audrey Roberts when she offers to sell her share of the salon to Claudia Colby.
When Claudia jumps at the opportunity to get her hands on part of the business, David loses his temper and resigns on the spot, but not before squirting hair product across the salon at his grandparent and her friend.
It doesn't take long for David to come up with a plan to get his own back however, when he teams up with his brother Nick Tilsey and plans to open a barbers' shop on Victoria Street.
What we already know from the soap's boss Iain MacLeod however, is that a secret will soon emerge and threaten to tear the siblings apart for good.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, he explained "The secret that emerges after the New Year proves so corrosive that they end up hating each other more than they ever have."
"I've written the words Cain and Abel - one of them isn't going to kill the other. But, they'll come pretty close in how much they come to loathe each other. It starts in January and plays out over the next 12 months."
Could this be the build-up for one of the soap's most dastardly villains of all time? We've heard tidbits of information about a fire which will engulf the factory on the street, claiming the life of a fan-favourite character; is it all related? Or will that be completely separate?
Coronation Street continues throughout the week on ITV. These particular scenes air on Friday, January 18, 2019.
