Michelle (Kym Ryder) is anxious about Ryan’s (Ben Thompson) stalker and is reluctant to let him out of the house, worried that he might have got himself in trouble with some dodgy people. However, when Liam (Rob James-Collier) offers to chaperone him to and from School, Michelle agrees. As Liam waits for Ryan outside the school that afternoon, he notices the car from the previous day and pounces on the driver, demanding to know why he’s been following his nephew. Terrified, the man reveals to a stunned Liam that he doesn’t want to hurt Ryan as he’s his father. Sarah (Tina O'Brien) tries to make Gail (Helen Worth) feel guilty for throwing her out at Christmas. But, as the squabbling siblings continue to bicker, Gail’s convinced she’s done the right thing. Meanwhile, Audrey (Sue Nicholls) arrives back from the airport with Stephen (Todd Boyce), who’s decided to spend Christmas with his mum. As they fill him in on David's recent exploits, Gail's upset when Stephen suggests he's suffering from not having a father figure and needs a firmer hand. Will Gail listen to his advice and be a bit tougher on David? Jim (Charles Lawson) is pleasantly surprised when Steve (Simon Gregson) offers him a job cleaning the cabs for Streetcars. Steve’s aware that Liz won’t be happy but hopes that it’ll be fine as long as Jim stays away from her. Has Steve made the right decision?Elsewhere, Liam (Rob James-Collier) is angry when Carla (Alison King) reveals to the factory girls that Maria (Samia Smith) is pregnant. Also, Lauren asks Eileen if she can move in.
