Beverley Callard will be returning to 'Coronation Street', but is worried it may spark another breakdown.
After leaving the soap due to health reasons back in 2011, the 56-year-old actress will return as Liz McDonald to the cobbled street next week. However, her husband Jon is concerned that the show and its many pressures could force her to plummet into depression.
Speaking to the Radio Times, she said: "I have been very poorly and Jon was worried I hadn't given myself enough time to be me.
"So I'm trying to be more sensible this time although I find it hard.
"I'm a perfectionist. I worry over stupid things.
"The other day I was fretting because, during a lunchtime scene in the Rovers, there was no ketchup on the tables. So, I do sometimes take it to extremes."
She added: "I'm climbing back again but I do still take medication."
The brassy blonde will find herself back behind the bar of The Rovers Return after her son, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) buys the boozer from current owner Stella Price (Michelle Collins), but the actress has also hinted at a potential romance for her character in the near future.
She explained: "Bev hasn't got a boyfriend but one is coming up. It's so exciting, but I can't reveal more."
