This week saw Nick Tilsley’s final Coronation Street scenes air, with actor Ben Price bowing out of the soap in an upsetting fashion. Fortunately for his fans however, he was saved from the quicksand he was trapped in rather than drowning, so the door will likely always be open for a potential return.

Speaking to Radio Times earlier in the week, the actor was asked about whether he’s already thinking of coming back.
“It’s hard for me to answer that question,” he replied. “Who knows what’ll happen in 10 years’ time? So I’m not saying no or yes. I can only really deal with the here and now. And I know this will sound really weird, but I don’t think I’ll ever leave it.
“Part of me will always be at Number Eight and I know that if I did return, within half an hour I’ll have hugged it out with the Platts and it’d be like I never left. So I don’t really feel like he’s gone – he’s just taking a bit of time out.”
He went on to joke: “But the audience does move on – I’ll probably just end up as a photo on the sideboard, never to be mentioned again!”
How the rest of the show’s characters will deal with Nick leaving the cobbles remains to be seen, but we’re sure they’ll be caught up in much more drama in the coming days that will clear their mind of the loss!
