Sonny (Pal Aron) insists to Sean (Antony Cotton) that if they keep their tryst discreet then nobody will get hurt. As Sean sneaks out of the back of no. 7 he knows he is getting in too deep. Leaving the house he bumps into Jamie (Rupert Hill) and Michelle (Kym Ryder) and skirts around the first of the day's tricky questions he faces. Later in the pub Sean feigns innocence about the bomb scare, lying to the whole pub that he went shopping to The Trafford Centre. Sean's lies do not kid Jamie who continues to question Sean about the day's events earlier at his house. Sean's struggle to hide the truth from Jamie is not helped by Sonny arrogantly adding to the onslaught of questions. The jealous banter between Steve (Simon Gregson) and Michelle continues in the Rovers, although Steve is clearly revelling in his knowledge about Sonny and Sean's affair.Arriving back from town, spent up and delighted with his purchases, Jason (Ryan Thomas) shows Sarah (Tina O'Brien) his bundle of bags full of presents for Holly and Beth (Amy/Emily Walton). Jason is astonished to find Eileen (Sue Cleaver) was not winding him up about the bomb and is led to Gail's (Helen Worth) garden to find nothing but a giant hole in the Peacocks lawn and shattered windows on the house. Aware of the problems it has caused, Tyrone (Alan Halsall) decides to bin the metal detector, deciding it's been more trouble than it's worth. Kirk (Andrew Whyment) tries relentlessly to change his decision and he reminds Tyrone that the bomb could have gone off at any time in Claire's garden. Elsewhere, Paul (Sean Gallagher) congratulates Carla (Alison King) on finding cheap labour by using the girls at Becky's hostel, and David’s (Jack P Shepherd) freaking Tracy (Kate Ford) out so much she confides in Steve.
