When Violet (Jenny Platt) tells Michelle (Kym Ryder) she's seen Steve (Simon Gregson) writing a large cheque to Paul (Sean Gallagher) she decides it's time to let him in on a family secret. Arriving at the golf club she takes him over to the trophy cabinet where Paul's name is everywhere - he's 4 times club champion. Embarrassed at being taken for a fool, but chuffed Michelle's finally blown the whistle on her brother, Steve decides to bite the bullet and ask Michelle why she helped him. Admitting she cares what happens to him the couple move in for a kiss, but will it finally happen? Deirdre's (Anne Kirkbride) in despair after her run in with Denise (Denise Black). Knowing she's played right into her hands Blanche (Maggie Jones) rubs salt into the wounds as she predicts Ken (William Roache) will be moving in there now and paying for everything for Denise and Daniel (Dominic Holmes). Ken meanwhile is moving his things over and confirms he won't be contacting Deirdre until she's clamed down and offered Denise an apology. How long will there stand-off last?Elsewhere, while the Battersbys enjoy a family outing to see Chesney's (Sam Aston) school play, Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) enjoys spending some more time in John's (Graham Hawley) company which doesn't go unnoticed by Maria (Samia Smith).As a blissfully happy Leanne (Jane Danson) enjoys another date with Liam (Rob James-Collier), and organises a shopping trip with Carla (Alison King), Janice (Vicky Entwistle) warns her not to blow what she's got with the Connors.

And Violet's excited when Gary texts to arrange a second date. But is she playing it too keen?
