I watch a heck of a lot of television. It's my job! Some shows are great, some need to be resigned to history, never to be seen again, and then every so often, there will be a series or a specific episode of a show that will push me over the edge and have me bursting into tears. If you're unafraid of letting your emotions show, here's a rundown of shows and specific moments which will force out that ugly cry! Note that there will of course be spoilers for each of the show's mentioned in the list...

7. Grey's Anatomy

There are far too many moments throughout Grey's Anatomy history to pick out just one that'll push out the tears. Packed full of unexpected deaths, almost-happy endings and everything in-between, showrunner Shonda Rhimes pushes her audience to the limits in every single season of the world's longest-running medical drama. If you're looking for something to binge, there are now 15 season of Grey's to get through!

6. Power

Coming to an end later this year, Power is a show that keeps viewers on their toes, but had all of its fans reaching for the tissues during a majorly shocking episode of Season 4. As Ghost and Tasha continued to navigate the mess that their life had become, it was their daughter Raina who suffered following the actions of her twin brother. Criminals don't like witnesses, and Raina found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. A truly gut-wrenching moment.

5. Lost

Whilst the ending got on the wick of thousands, denying Lost's ability to not just push you over the edge, but throw you for miles right off it, would be tough for anybody. Friends and lovers had to watch each other die, and flashbacks that helped flesh out fan-favourites were scattered throughout the series from start to finish, and writers knew exactly what to do to get the tears flowing.

4. Game of Thrones

This list would have meant nothing without Game of Thrones' inclusion. All you have to say to a big fan is two words: Red Wedding. That's enough to open the floodgates. Seeing our favourites slaughtered was just too much, in one of television history's most jaw-dropping events. Even those A Song of Ice & Fire book readers who knew it was coming couldn't believe their eyes! "The Lannisters send their regards." Ugh!

3. Breaking Bad

Though all of the characters in Breaking Bad are completely flawed individuals, it was this realistic approach to their personalities that made them so relatable to viewers. So, whilst they were often breaking the law, we rooted for them to do well and make it out of the other end having made a success of their ventures. For a while, it seemed as if this could be the case, but things were never going to be wrapped up nicely with a bow. From Jesse's girlfriend dying and Walter simply watching on, refusing to help, to the series' final goodbye to Walter himself, Breaking Bad is a show to binge if you're feeling it's time for a good sobbing session.

2. Years and Years

Five episodes deep, and new BBC drama Years and Years is already one of the best dramas the broadcaster have ever put out. With incredible performances from every single person involved, it's a true ensemble show and, if you're very worried about the future, a potential glimpse at what could happen if the world continues to go in the way it seems to be going. If that isn't enough to push you to burst into tears, then the ending of episode four will certainly stun you into submission. The follow-up in episode five is even more torturous, as the Lyons family say goodbye to one of their own.

1. Wentworth

Also known as Wentworth Prison in the UK, this is a show that knows exactly how to tear your heart out with emotive sequences packed full of dread and despair. It was Bea's sacrifice at the end of Season 3 however that will always stick with us. After finding love with fellow inmate Allie, but still seeing former governor Joan Ferguson tormenting her friends, Bea decided that the perfect way to punish her forever would be to make sure she spent the rest of her life behind bars. This meant forcing Joan to murder her in the prison courtyard, leaving behind her loved ones in doing so. Just thinking about this moment causes misty eye!
