In celebration of 'Glee' returning to Sky 1 tomorrow night, we've decided to put together a list of seven of the greatest covers seen through the four seasons so far.
'Blackbird'
Originally sang by the legendary icons that are The Beatles, Chris Colfer took on the uplifting ballad that had us in awe of his incomparable vocal ability. It was a little ridiculous, however, that it was sung in honour of his character's pet canary Pavarotti, who suddenly died in his cage.
'Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now)'
One of only two songs Glee have ever recorded live and put on an episode completely unedited and raw. Darren Criss does well to convey a strong sense of emotion through this Mariah Carey hit, with wavering vocals, and, if you listen closely enough, a tiny crack in his vocals that brings the 'real' back to this show. A beautiful rendition.
'So Emotional'
Following the untimely passing of the legendary 'voice' that was Whitney Houston, Glee dedicated a show to her music and delivered some of the best Whitney covers to-date. 'So Emotional' saw Lea Michele team with Naya Rivera for a performance that the 'Bodyguard' star would have been proud of.
'True Colours'
In one of the rare moments we get to hear Jenna Ushkowitz lead, she took on Cyndi Lauper's 'True Colours' along with other members of 'New Directions', all the way back in season one, and left us pining to hear more of her sensational singing.
'Somebody To Love'
Also featured in season one, 'Somebody To Love' is the first track performed by the entirety of the original 'New Directions' members, featuring solos from Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley and Kevin McHale, performing at The Invitationals.
'Rumour Has It/Someone Like You'
This mashup is the show's best so far, with two of Adele's biggest hits being tackled by the short-lived 'Troubletones' - an all girl choir that some of the Glee alumna form after leaving 'New Directions'. Adele herself tweeted praise for the cover, which featured as the show's 300th performance.
'Toxic'
With this inventive take on one of Britney Spears' biggest hits, the cast - led by Matthew Morrison - take on 'Toxic' like nobody has ever done before.
