Ric Flair has spoken out about the controversial segment which ended WWE Monday Night Raw this week, in which Paige, in character, poked fun at the real-life dead sibling of Charlotte.
In the WOOOOO! Nation podcast released this week, Ric, father to Charlotte and now-deceased Reid Fleir, the WWE Hall of Famer said: "Obviously I have an opinion, but I'm afraid to voice it because I don't want anything to affect Ashley's career."
Ashley is the birth name of Charlotte. He continues: "I know that Hunter (Triple H) and Stephanie [McMahon] and Michael Hayes have her (Charlotte) back."
He also hinted that Charlotte may have felt pressured to deliver the angle.
"I don't think she feels comfortable enough to say 'no' to anything yet, she's only been up there (main roster) three months.
"I never heard a word about it. I started crying when I was watching it. Nope, nobody called me."
Charlotte and Paige's rivalry culminates this coming weekend on Sunday, November 22 with a Diva's Championship match at Survivor Series, available on pay-per-view and the WWE Network.
