Cheryl Fernandez-Versini got "distracted" by an X Factor contestant's raunchy dance moves.
Spanish Farella, 27, performed George Michael's hit song 'Faith' at Wembley Arena in a bid to get through to the next stage of the competition, but was told by the judging panel to stop "touching his crotch" so much.
Cheryl said: "I was a little bit distracted. You were touching your crotch a lot.
"You sang well. If you can keep your hands to yourself I will say yes."
Simon Cowell added: "Could you do the song without touching your crotch. You were doing it a lot."
He then jokingly turned to Louis Walsh and asked: "Did you like that Louis?".
The unemployed hopeful begged to be put through to the next round of the show because he wants to "inspire" fellow Spaniards.
He said: "I came on this show because my country is in crisis at the moment and hopefully I can be an inspiration.
"There are a lot of Spanish people living in Britain. Five years ago I could not speak English at all.
"I came on this show as I am a really big fan and it is the best way to make my dream come true as everybody knows 'The X Factor UK'.
"I want to be on the stage. I was born to be on the stage."
Cheryl admitted she was very impressed by Farella's command of the English language.
She said: "It always blows my mind when someone from another country goes to another country and sings in our language."
