For the first time in the history of The X Factor, viewers will be able to decide which judge gets which category in a brand new format twist for the show.
Voting via hashtag on Twitter, viewers will determine just who gets the Girls, Boys, Groups and Overs.
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Simon Cowell, Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw will then have to mentor their respective groups, as chosen by the public.
The live Twitter vote opens during the first episode of the new series on Saturday August 29, before closing on Tuesday, September 1 at 12pm.
Fernandez-Versini, Cowell, Ora and Grimshaw will be told about the public's decision during the filming of the six-chair challenge at the SSE Arena in Wembley.
To vote, viewers will have to tweet the hashtag with the name of their chosen judge followed by the category they'd like to see them mentor.
Each judge and category have been given their own special emoji which will appear across tweets during the vote.
Chatting about the year's categories, Cowell says: "Interestingly, there's no weak category this year. I can see who the winner of each category could be. It could all change, we've only seen them for the first time, then the second time we see them they could be terrible. So we'll see."
The X Factor returns at 8pm on ITV, Saturday August 29.
