Simon Cowell is said to be hoping to bring out a celebrity version of The X Factor.
Considering filming the special edition of the show for ITV's Text Santa charity appeal later this year, he isn't worried despite the 2006 failure of a celebrity focused version titled X Factor: Battle of the Stars.
The music mogul is said to have spoken about the idea in Los Angeles, where current contestants performed for him in a bid to make the forthcoming live shows.
He also thinks everything is to play for this year compared to last, where Sam Bailey emerged as the frontrunner almost immediately.
"Last year, the minute I saw the show it was just a one-horse race. I mean no one was going to beat that girl.
"I know who has gone through this year and I think it is going to be a proper competition again. I think people are going to be more invested in the contestants this year than last year."
The X Factor continues this weekend on ITV.
