Sherilyn Hamilton-Shaw "almost" didn't turn up to her 'X Factor' audition that made judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini cry.

The 40-year-old Welsh pop hopeful reduced the 'I Don't Care' singer to tears when she performed her version of Whitney Houston's 'I Didn't Know My Own Strength' and has now revealed if it wasn't for her husband's motivational pep talk before auditioning she wouldn't have bothered going and subsequently get through to the bootcamp stage of TV talent show.
Speaking on 'This Morning', she said: "I almost didn't go for the audition but he said this is your time now. You've just got to go and do it. And I did and all of this has come from it."
The mum-of-three had been singing since she was 13, but had to give up when she turned 30 when her ex-policeman husband was involved in an accident leaving him paralysed for six months, but now he has recovered she decided to go on the show and never thought she'd make Cheryl cry her eyes out.
Discussing the former Girls Aloud star's emotional reaction, she said: "It really got to her heart. I think she just connected with the song anyway for her own reasons and my own story and how I sung it, it was really emotional."
Sherilyn didn't expect to get such a "positive" reception having not performed live in 10 years.
Asked if she expected the response she got, she added: "Not from any of them they were all very positive. I'd go on stage and maybe I wouldn't have the reaction I had years ago and then when I went up there and saw Cheryl crying in front of 5,000 people or however many there was standing on their feet. It was just incredible."
