Shayne Ward thinks 'The X Factor' should take a short break.
The 'Coronation Street' actor - who shot to fame after he won the second series of the ITV singing competition in 2005 - believes the popular programme needs to leave screens for at least 12 months and then return "bigger and better."
Speaking to Yahoo! Celebrity, he said: "The show's so great ... if it goes away for a year or so and then comes back, just so it can have a breather, because it's so constant.
"It's amazing and it's had some amazing contestants and winners over the years.
"I think, like a lot of people, it would be great for the show to take a breather and come back bigger, better and stronger."
And, although he may have 'X Factor' to thank for his blossoming career, the handsome star is keen to focus on his acting gig at the moment as he's loving portraying ladies' man Aidan Connor, the lingerie factory boss, in the soap.
He said: "The singing's still there. With 'Corrie' in general it is one or the other. My main focus is being Aidan and making him as believable as possible for the public. But the public know as well that I am from the singing background so it's a bit of a compromise to keep that music alive."
