Olly Murs and Caroline Flack have been banned from using their phones on 'The X Factor'.
The ITV show's boss Simon Cowell is hoping to "boost the confidence" of the show's hosts as he doesn't think them reading negative comments about themselves in the ad breaks will help with their nerves.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Cowell wants Olly and Caroline to focus on the task at hand. He told Olly he has his complete support, as he wants to boost his confidence.
"Reading negative comments is not going to do anything except make them feel more nervous, so he has told them to leave their phones until after the show.
"But judges Nick Grimshaw, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Rita Ora are always tweeting about their acts, to get support."
It comes after the 'Wrapped Up' hitmaker revealed he smashed his phone just after he looked on Twitter when he told a contestant she was leaving the show before the vote had gone to deadlock.
He said at the time: "I went on Twitter for two seconds and threw my phone. I got a massive crack. But you can't listen to that rubbish."
