Nick Grimshaw will not go out of his way to be "mean or nice" on 'The X Factor' he will just be "honest".
The 30-year-old Radio 1 DJ - who landed the judging role alongside singer Rita Ora - will be joining Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez Versini on the panel for the next series of the ITV singing competition and believes there is "no point" being there if he doesn't tell the truth.
He told Metro newspaper: "My friends keep asking me what kind of judge I'll be. I guess I'm just going to be myself. I'm not going to go out of my way to be mean or nice. You've got to be honest, otherwise there is no point."
Nick - who will earn £1 million for starring on 'The X Factor' - also admitted it is an honour to have landed the role and doesn't see his job as "work".
He said: "I feel really honoured to go to work. And I don't see it as work really. I've always wanted to do this."
