Nick Grimshaw knew he'd get "scrutiny" on 'The X Factor.'

The show judge - who is in charge of mentoring the boys' group this year - believes he was prepared for the backlash he received when he joined the ITV programme earlier this summer after he replaced TV favourite Louis Walsh.
Speaking on 'Alan Carr: Chatty Man', he said: "I knew I'd get the scrutiny as Louis Walsh is so loved."
However, the radio presenter, 31, tries to brush off the hurtful criticism rather than let it get to him and depress him.
He added: "You've got to ignore it. My dad hates the Rolling Stones, so why can't millions hate me?"
Although, it's not just television viewers who have turned against him as his Radio 1 breakfast show is failing to pull in listeners as well after he replaced Chris Moyles in 2012.
Meanwhile, Nick recently revealed judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini was very protective of him when it was reported Louis was being brought back to replace him on the show.
Nick explained: "Cheryl was like, 'Just you wait. Everyone gets it on this show'. I was like, 'Louis Walsh doesn't like me!' and Cheryl was like, 'Please'.
He added: "She was more upset than me. She's been very caring and welcoming to me and she phones me all the time and checks up on me."
But despite being hurt by the comments, Nick has admitted he was never worried about losing his job.
He shared: "Simon [Cowell] told me, 'This is the nature of the best - you're in the goldfish bowl, everyone has something to say.' Coming on after Louis, who's been awesome for 11 years and a national treasure, that's big shoes to fill. I think anyone would have got stick."
