Louis Walsh is the "happiest he's ever been" since leaving 'The X Factor'.
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini praised her former colleague - who was axed from the ITV talent show earlier this year - for being a "good sport" throughout the promotion of the forthcoming series.
Speaking at the launch of 'The X Factor' at London's Picturehouse Central cinema, she said: "He's been a really good sport. He came down for our promo and I think he is happier not being on the show. "
BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw - who has replaced Louis on the judging panel - revealed his predecessor had even warned him and fellow new judge Rita Ora about what they'd signed up for.
Nick said: "He came in when me and Rita did a shoot and he looked the happiest he has ever been. And he said, 'You two don't know what you've got yourselves into. He was really happy, but he did want there to be a fifth judge."
Meanwhile, music mogul and show boss Simon Cowell joked that Louis will be able to watch this year's show from the comfort of his own bed.
He added: "The good thing for Louis is that he can watch the show in bed in his PJs and he call me after the show. We've got him a couple of seats for the live shows ... Restricted view."
'The X Factor' kicks off tomorrow (29.08.15) at 8pm on ITV.
