Caroline Flack thinks Olly Murs will add a "bit of cheekiness" to 'The X Factor'.
The pair are co-presenting the ITV talent show this year and the 35-year-old star has admitted they've had to reduce the "silliness".
She said: "We've got to change it slightly. We've got to take away the silliness a little bit. We can bring fun to it and bring excitement but it's got to be about the contestants and their relationship with the judges and of course the audience and their voting.
"[Olly's] going to have a nice relationship with Simon [Cowell] because they know each other really well."
Caroline also defended the ITV show, insisting it offers opportunities to those who can't get them elsewhere.
She shared to The Telegraph newspaper: "I think X Factor is offering opportunity to people who don't have that opportunity anywhere else. You could look at that programme and find a million negative things but you can also find a million positive things. Some people just love that negative vibe."
When asked about the negatives, she added: "I guess a lot of people say it's changed the music industry a lot, people say it's taken advantage of people and putting their life onto TV and using that.
"But it is a TV show at the end of the day. It's a really entertaining TV show and it's only giving people an opportunity. That's all it's doing."
