Boy George has been blasted for being "too critical" on 'The Voice.'

The Culture Club star, who has replaced Sir Tom Jones on the BBC One show for the fifth series, has already caused a stir on the panel after his harsh approach to mentoring didn't sit well with the other judges and the younger contestants.
Speaking to the RadioTimes magazine, he said: "I've been told I've been too critical. But on a lot of these shows, some 17-year-old kid is told, 'You're amazing', and no, what you are is potentially amazing. But you're pitchy. You hit some bum notes. You impersonated this person. That's what they need to hear. And you can say that without being nasty."
But the 54-year-old singer is adamant the backlash he's received won't force him to hold his tongue when it comes to dishing out advice to his team because he feels it's the vital component when it comes to excelling in the industry.
He explained: "If you can't take criticism, I don't really want you on my team."
Meanwhile, 'The Voice' is set to return to television screens across the nation on Saturday (09.01.16) for its last series on BBC One after ITV - which airs rival show 'The X Factor' - poached it for 2017 in a deal worth an estimated £33 million.
