NOTE: Spoilers
Returning for its 28th season on Wednesday night, Survivor: Cagayan opened with a two hour premiere which saw two castaways sent packing.
Split this time round into three tribes: Brains, Brawn and Beauty, the characters involved all seem to have big personalities about them - there shouldn't be any floating this season.
The Beauty tribe are very much beautiful, and the Brawn group are mostly buff and look ready to take on any physical challenge. However, a shock came when the Brain tribe not only lost the first immunity and reward challenge, but the second as well.
Book smart they may be, but when it comes to the game of Survivor, they're probably competitors that have gotten off to one of the worst starts in the game's history - not only in challenges, but socially. One of them - J'Tia - decided because she was on the chopping block, she'd destroy 98% of the Brains tribe's rice. And she still didn't get voted off. That axe fell on the President of the Miami Marlins, and a high stakes professional poker player.
Looking in now it would seem there are some people in there who believe they have this game nailed down. Spencer for one, and it'll be interesting to see how his game develops now that the females on his tribe look set to pick him off if they're forced to go to tribal once more.
Then there's Lindsey on the Brawn tribe who loves to poke fun at Trish - or as she's now named her 'MalnuTrisha', after a minor spat that didn't really need to occur.
A lot of hotheadedness has come from some of the contestants just six days in, and so it'll be interesting to see just how the dynamics change and evolve as we take steps closer to that ever elusive day 39.
My pre-season picks were LJ and Kass, and I think I'm going to stick with them. Kass has a way of getting herself out of a tight situation, and LJ's likeability factor, coupled with him being the one to secure the Brawn's win in the second immunity and reward challenge should see him continue to take on the leader role for his tribe.
Survivor: Cagayan continues Wednesday at 8/7c on CBS.
