Strictly Come Dancing training has shocked TV chef Gregg Wallace.

Paired with professional dancer Aliona Vilani, she ensures he puts in the best efforts each and every time they rehearse.

Speaking to OK! Magazine he said: "It's tough. I never realised how difficult it really is. Every step has to be right and Aliona is determined for me to learn the basic steps and get them absolutely right before we go to the next level.

"Aliona is amazing. She's not strict but she is expectant. She expects a certain level of behaviour. I know exactly where I stand. There's no messing around.

"I'm not a gifted dancer but I am a grafter and I'm throwing myself into the show. I've even asked my PA to put half-hour slots in throughout the day for me to practise on my own."

Despite the tough work he's feeling "honoured" to be a part of the show.

"I really love dancing. I'm the guy who's always the first on the dancefloor. It's such a big show and I thought it'd be a real honour to go on it. Now I've said yes, it's starting to dawn on me how grand it is. I'm feeling the pressure now."
