This weekend saw Thom Evans eliminated in a shock decision on Strictly Come Dancing.

The former rugby player and professional partner Iveta Lukosiute lost in a dance-off against Simon Webbe and Kristina Rihanoff.

Performing their Cha-Cha-Cha to Jessie J's 'It's My Party', Thom and Iveta failed to impress more than two judges, with Bruno Tonioli and head judge Len Goodman opting to save Simon and Kristina after their Viennese Waltz.

Speaking after the results, Thom said: "This experience exceeded all my expectations; it is one of the best experiences of my life. From the judges to the other contestants to the backroom staff, everyone does such a brilliant job and helps you feel confident going into every show.

"I also want to thank my partner Iveta. She has been immensely patient over these last couple of weeks and she couldn't have worked harder. I want to thank her from the bottom of my heart."

Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.
