Ryan Thomas won't do reality TV.
The 33-year-old actor is preparing to leave 'Coronation Street' after 16 years in Weatherfield and though he knows he'll receive "knockbacks" when he looks for his next role, he insists he will still be taking his career seriously, whatever happens.
He said: "I am ready for auditions I am ready for the knockbacks, Rejection is part of being an actor. I want to stay with acting. I want to take it seriously. I don't want to become a reality star. Succeed or fail, I will learn so much from it."
Ryan admits walking away from his role as Jason Grimshaw is the "biggest decision" he's ever made and has left him feeling both "scared" and "excited".
He told OK! magazine: "I'm scared and excited. It's a new start. It's going into the unknown. I'm feeling a mixed bag of emotions as I don't feel like I know anything else. It's the biggest decision I've ever made in my whole career. I am going to miss my 'Corrie' family so much. The cast and crew are fantastic. There is not a bad egg in the entire company."
