Phillip Schofield "cried his eyes out" when he watched the Dancing on Ice final ever episode.
The 51-year-old TV presenter - who fronted the ITV skating competition for nine years - has admitted he bawled like a baby as he relived the emotional ending of the series earlier this week.
'Dancing on Ice' came to an end on Sunday (09.03.14), with Ray Quinn besting Beth Tweddle and Hayley Tamaddon to be crowned champion of champions.
Phillip told BANG Showbiz: "It was weird on Sunday, because I wasn't terribly emotional during the show because, of course, you've got to hold it together and concentrate. It was a smart show, I'm really proud of the show on Sunday - I watched it back on Monday and cried my eyes out!"
Phillip and co-host Christine Bleakley took to the ice themselves for the final show and the silver-haired fox was thrilled to have Olympic ice skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean personally coach the duo.
He said: "When it was suggested we do it, we both looked at each other and went, 'Well, I'm up for it - let's do it then.' We got what the celebrities normally get, which is time on the ice with Jayne and Chris, so Torvill and Dean coaching us and you've got the pros there as well giving us their tips. It was a lovely thing to remember. It was a lovely way to finish."
And the 'This Morning' star feels 'Dancing on Ice' has bowed out at exactly the right time and has praised ITV for allowing the show to end on a high.
He explained: "We could have all got a call in August saying, 'We don't want to do any more', but there was none of that. This was such a dignified way to do it.
"You run out of people who are prepared to do it, Jayne and Chris have other things they want to do and it was the right time for them - it was the anniversary of bolero - so it was a very neat bow to tie up.
"I'm so pleased we got the opportunity to finish it the way we wanted to finish it.
"I was also pleased that on Sunday, we presented our best ever show - that's the legacy Jayne and Chris were talking about, what a way to go!"
