The 'Mysterious Girl' hitmaker's oldest kids, 10-year-old Junior and eight-year-old Princess - who he has with ex-wife Katie Price - are "excited" about the fact he is to appear on the next series of the competition, but while his daughter is doubtful about his skills on the dancefloor, his son is hoping to join him on the programme.
Peter - who also has 19-month-old daughter Amelia with wife Emily MacDonagh - said: "When I told J and P about me taking part, they were so excited.
"Princess said to me, 'But dad, can you dance?' I said, 'Hello, have you not seen me on stage?' to which she replied, 'Yeah but can you dance?'
"On the other hand, Junior has asked me if he can compete himself so I had to tell him no!"
Peter is nervous about being on the show, but has bonded with the other male contestants - though he is worried about them playing pranks on him.
Writing in his column for new! magazine, Peter said: "I'm still so nervous, but hanging out with some of the guys, including Jay McGuinness from The Wanted and Olympic boxer Anthony Ogogo, has helped calm me down.
"We've all been thrown in at the deep end but we're getting on really well. Us guys are already planning on pulling little pranks on each other.
"So far, we've come up with taking pictures of Jay and putting them on 'wanted' posters around the streets.
"I don't know what they have in mind for me so I'll have to have eyes in the back of my head."
