Nick Hewer has said he'd never join the cast of Strictly Come Dancing.

The 'Countdown' presenter's assistant Rachel Riley recently dazzled viewers by showing off her dancing skills on the BBC One show, but Nick, 69, admits he isn't eager to follow in her footsteps.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Not in 10,000 years. And not for a trillion pounds ... actually, I would do it for a trillion! I couldn't do it, the athleticism required is incredible. I went to two recordings of that show and it is fantastic - the electricity, the energy, the professionalism, and the athleticism just knocked me off my feet.

"I couldn't do it. I'd be puffed out just walking across the dancefloor. And nobody's getting me into a red satin shirt either!"

Business expert Nick - who also serves as one of Lord Sugar's aides on 'The Apprentice' - can be seen loosening his tie in Cadbury's new Dairy Milk campaign, in which he is caught lip-synching in a lift to Baccara's 'Yes Sir I Can Boogie', and he admits he is more fun than he appears to be on TV.

He added: "On 'The Apprentice', we're working so hard, concentrating and trying to understand what on earth is going on that there isn't too much room for fun. 'Countdown' is fun but it's also very demanding. But I suppose I'm quite light-hearted with people I know well."
