Lydia Bright

Lydia Bright wouldn't rule out a future romance with James 'Arg' Argent.

The reality star is nervous about returning to 'The Only Way Is Essex' for series 13 and coming face-to-face with her ex-boyfriend again, but she is hopeful they can reconnect as friends if not lovers.

She said: "I always say, 'Never say never'. I went through a very volatile relationship with him. We broke up on very bad terms. It would never happen any time soon, but I don't rule anything out for the future. We had an amazing relationship - we were best friends, hardly ever argued, laughed all the time and were inseparable.

"That's probably why I found it so hard to let go. It would be nice to have that again - as friends. I don't think a romantic relationship is on the cards - but a friendship is."

Lydia - who quit the show in December 2012 - has forgiven Arg for cheating on her because he seems sincerely sorry for his behaviour, but isn't sure she could ever trust him again.

The 23-year-old star told Now magazine: "I think we would always get back with me and he really regrets what happened. I've read interviews he's done and read his book and I do believe he's sorry. We get on well and really make each other laugh.

"I do think he believes in his heart of hearts we'll get back together one day because what we had was so good. But it's hard to move on from things that have happened."

Lydia has moved on and even enjoyed a summer fling when she went travelled around Indonesia with her sister last winter.

She said: "I actually had a holiday romance when we went travelling. Ten days into the trip I met a guy called Ian - and my sister got with his best mate, too!

"The four of us spent the rest of the holiday together, travelling around. We still keep in touch and we're definitely mates but obviously we both knew it wasn't going to be more than it was."
