Kym Marsh's daughter Emilie Cunliffe on 'The Voice'

Kym Marsh is furious and has now lashed out at "sick" Twitter trolls who targeted her daughter online.

Branding certain users of the social media platform of bullies as her daughter Emilie Cunliffe's audition for the BBC One singing competition aired, she was not happy following the show.

Taking to her own Twitter account, she defended her daughter, writing: "The bullies make me sick.

"Say what you like about me I really don't care but a 16yr old??? Really? Sick. (sic)".

Co-star Catherine Tyldesley jumped to the youngster's defence also, adding: "Pure jealousy. They live in deep negativity."

Whilst mentors Tom Jones, Rita Ora, Ricky Wilson and will.i.am decided not to put Emilie through to the next round, they were complimentary about her performance, and Tom even admitted that he made "a mistake".

Rita offered her some tips and advised her to go on and try again in the future.

She said: "You're beautiful. You have incredible tone. Now ask yourself, 'What am I going to do to stand out?' Figure that out then please come back."
