Caroll Pattison believes the 28-year-old reality TV star's debut show 'Geordie Show' portrayed her in a bad light because she was forced to guzzle down booze and get stuck in to club brawls, but she's thrilled she can finally give fans an insight into her true self during her jungle stint.

She explained: "I'm so proud of her as she is being allowed to show the real Vicky. My girl is so witty and down to earth and the comments I've seen from everyone watching is that they love that side of her.

"I've always been proud of what she has achieved as she's my baby but some of her shows like 'Geordie Shore' have been very hard to watch and discuss with the family as the show required her to drink lots and be argumentative.

"It wasn't the real Vicky in 'Geordie Shore', it was sometimes uncomfortable viewing."

However, Caroll doesn't feel she can knock the MTV programme, which made Vicky famous, because it paved the way for the brunette beauty's career in television.

She said: "'Geordie Shore' was her way into TV so we can't knock it but she has grown up since."

Meanwhile, Caroll, who is currently in Australia supporting her daughter, is confident Vicky has what it takes to be crowned Queen of the Jungle when the ITV show wraps up in two weeks' time.

She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I would love her to win more than anything right now as Vicky and all of us as a family have endured lots of bad publicity over the years."
