Tensions had been rising since Davidâs earlier comments to Nicola and Simon talked to Carly after they had escorted Nicola to the Trial. Simon said: "Since theyâve (Timmy and David) come in camp, thatâs when all the vibes have started. If it was the other way around Iâd say it to Nicola. Itâs out of order."
"We didnât know what Nicola was up for today so in her head she needed to know that people were on her side. It looked like it was Davidâs opportunity to have a slight dig."
Simon confronted David when he retuned to Camp: "Do you not like her or something?"
David agreed but said: "I would say exactly the same that she doesnât like me. Thereâs obviously a problem."
Simon continued: "Everyone can have their own snide remarks because it goes back and forth but when it comes to a Trial weâre supposed to be supportive. Youâre facing your fears every time because you donât know what youâre up against. What we donât want is âThank God its not meâ. Deep down you know what youâre doing and that wasnât called for."
In the Bush Telegraph Simon said "He will turn around and say its not that I donât like her. Youâre a grown man and you know what you are doing."
David said he would confront Nicola "tomorrow maybe". But he added "I donât dislike her, I donât know her. I donât know anything about her."
And in the Bush Telegraph he said: "There is this misconception that Iâve got something against her but sheâs got this odd manner."
With the conversation seemingly ended Carly told David that theyâd all said what they felt. But both Brian and Robert replied that they hadnât witnessed the altercation between David and Nicola.
Simon said: "It sparked up something that didnât need to be sparked."
