The celebrities were blown away yesterday and suffered a bad case of wind when they took part in the Bushtucker Trial. The challenge saw the remaining four celebrities face treacherous conditions in Celebrity Cyclone, a slippery combination of water cannons and gale force winds which were aimed and fired at them as they struggled to put foam stars on the spots. Ant outlined the Trial: âToday you will be battling the elements to win your meals. You must decide on an order - who goes 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. When the klaxon sounds, the first person must carry all four stars to the first finish position.
âOnce the first person is in position, the second person may make their way to the second finish position - collecting three of the stars on the way. Once the second is in position the third person can make their way to the third finish position, picking up 2 stars as they pass. And once the third is in place, the fourth and final person can set out to the fourth finish position, collecting a single star en route.â
Dec continued: âYou may only begin moving when the person before you has reached and is standing in their finish position with their stars. Once all four of you are in your finish positions, all you need do is hold your stars high over your head. You have five minutes to get to and stay in your finish positions with your stars aloft. A meal will be awarded for every star in the designated place at the end.
âAs this is a Bush Tucker Trial expect a few surprises along the way... If you want to end the trial, you can simply shout "Iâm a celebrity get me out of here!" But youâll have to shout loud. Itâs going to be noisy!â
As the fireball at the end of the slippery slope went up in flames, the foghorn sounded and George was the first off. Battling against the wind and water cannons, George set off and immediately fell over, having recovered he pushed on and eventually, after much encouragement from his fellow celebrities landed on the painted star with the four stars in his arms.
David was next off and he too fell over but struggled on to reach George and with water blasting his face, he reached the second star. Martina was third off the mark and was blown over by the wind and water. Up on her feet in a flash she put her head down and ran with the star to the next position. With a minute and a half to go, Joe ran through the cyclone to Martina but lost after falling into Martina. He grabbed her feet which led to her losing her hold and then getting washed away by the wet whirlwind - taking out all four celebrities in the process. With just one minute to go, David and Martina helped George back on his feet and on onto his spot, before getting back on to their designated positions with just seconds to spare, winning a meal each for the night.
Laughing her head off and slip sliding around on the plastic slippery floor in her wet boots, Martina said: âWell done boys! We got blown back but we held on, we were never going to let go or give up.â
Enjoying a group hug Joe said: âWhen I got my star back down, I thought please let everyone have got their stars and I looked round and thought well done team, Itâs our last night as a foursome and itâs down to the last day so letâs make it a good one.â
David added: âWe had water splattering everywhere and pushing us back. I struggled and got on the star.â
Prior to the trial David said: âThis trial involved us all taking part so I wasnât left out, can I work with the others, can they work with me?â
âWe are the fabulous four!â said George.
Martina said in the Bush Telegraph: âThe trial was a lot of fun, it was very hard and slimy you canât get any grip and the air and water is blowing you its like fighting the elements and George was phenomenal he had a hard task getting all 4 stars to the first one. At one point he was totally stuck in one place, he was moving his arms and feet and going nowhere and he was blown back and he started again, then we were able to get all 4 meals for tonight.â
