Another wet morning greeted all the camp mates although the Away Camp were feeling it more than their rivals. "Iâm getting bored of this," said Esther. Robert summed it up by saying: "Iâm light headed. Weâre surrounded by damp and water and itâs miserable with no food to speak of."
The realisation that they had run out of food hit the camp as Esther said: "We should have enough rations for today but we donât. Itâs not going to be a brilliant morning because weâve miscalculated the food. We can always chew on a log."
Carly said that it was Simon who was struggling most with the lack of food.
Esther came up with a plan. "Hot waterâs nice and it fills you up." So the Away Camp had two cups of water each for breakfast.
Robert said: "Itâs not such an enjoyable experience being in the rainforest as it might have been due to the added complication of the rain. That must have been part of the deal too. Iâm sure itâs sunny in the other camp," he joked.
Meanwhile, tempers were better in the Home Camp as they were given pillows as their daily treat.
However, Dani and Brian were beginning to get worried about the Away Camp. Brian said "Itâs pretty tough on them. Iâm getting worried." Dani said: "Iâm not worried. Theyâll be alright. The good thing is that they donât know how weâre living and what theyâre missing out on."
