Former King of the Jungle Matt Willis and his wife Emma return to the jungle to present this year's, I'm A Celebrity get me Out Of Here...Now!
Q: Last year you both presented ITV2âs Iâm A Celebrity -Get Me Out of Here NOW! how did you find the experience?
Matt Willis: -I thought it was wild - I loved it! It was my first presenting job so I was a bit nervous - live TV every day - but I obviously loved it."
Emma Willis: -I think you were a bit nervous before you went. It just felt so normal."
Q: What can viewers expect to see when they tune into this yearâs show?
Emma Willis: -We will try and go behind the scenes and see what everyone does to make the show. We will interview the celebrities, Ant and Dec and Medic Bob but this year we will also be meeting some of the other people who work on the series and finding out what they do."
Matt Willis: -This year I think itâs going to be a lot more in depth - we are going to look at what goes on behind the scenes and how the show is made. There are lots of people that work on the show and we are going to find out what they get up to and what they do every day. How do they get 500 cockroaches for a Bushtucker Trial? Apparently itâs someoneâs job to breed them. How do they get the animal parts for the Bushtucker Bonanza?"
Q: Matt, how did you feel handing your jungle crown over to Christopher Biggins?
Matt Willis: -Everyone thinks I was really bothered, but I wasnât bothered. He was a nice guy - he deserved to win."
Emma Willis: -Biggins was an obvious winner from the minute he entered the jungle and we thought thereâs the winner. He was funny and entertaining."
If you both could pick one celebrity who you would like to see in the jungle, who would it be?
Emma Willis: -Iâd like to see Pamela Anderson."
Matt Willis: -Mr T - Iâd love to see him in there."
Q: Matt, most people know you as a musician how did you find presenting?
Matt Willis: -I donât know itâs quite a natural thing to do if youâve been in a band and been in the pop industry you have to do lots of TV interviews so it feels quite natural to do this kind of thing. I donât have to be a âTV presenterâ and find a âTV presenter personalityâ I am just being myself."
Q: Is music something you plan to stay in or are you planning to continue presenting?
Matt Willis: -I love doing this. TV is fun, itâs a good laugh but I also love music. Iâm just starting a new band now. Itâs good to have both. The band is with an old friend of mine."
Q: Matt you won the title, two years ago, are you still in contact with any of your fellow camp mates?
Matt Willis: -Iâm actually going for dinner with David Gest this evening. I speak to Jason [Donovan] and Myleene [Klass] once in a while and Faith [Brown]."
Q: Matt if you had the chance again would you go back into the jungle?
Matt Willis: -I would do it yes because itâs great - you lose lots of weight. If they ever decided to make an Iâm A Celebrity featuring all the winners from previous series Iâd be up for that - to see whoâs the ultimate King or Queen of the Jungle."
Q: Do you think itâs possible to put on a front and play the game to try and win?
Matt Willis: -I think it all goes completely out of the window. Itâs so different to anything you can imagine when you are in there. Also you can only pretend to be a certain person for so long - you canât pretend to be someone else 24 hours a date for three weeks."
Emma Willis: -Itâs so easy to see through it - you can just tell canât you?"
