Joe Swash
Joe and Simon head off to try and win today’s celebrity chest. Having faced his fears on his Trial yesterday, Joe prepared to face his fear once more.
They had the key to the chest, all they had to do to open it was to each walk across high wires, using each other as a support. Located on the other side was the chest.
Both celebrities, looked on nervously, ‘This is going to be terrifying’ muttered Joe. ‘Let not think about it’ said Simon.
But before they could start the challenge they would both have to wear yellow lycra suits. Familiar with a the lycra suit, Joe whinged ‘Why is mine so much smaller’, Simon laughed and said ‘Because I’m bigger’.
Harnessed in, they set about completing the challenge. Gripping onto each other and trying not to look down, they both speak words of encouragement to keep each other focused as they attempted to make their way across.
Wobbling, Joe almost gave in, but Simon encouraged him to keep moving and they finally made their way across to the other side.
Joe said, ‘That was pretty nerve wracking, that had my nerves on the edge, it was wobbling the whole way. I haven’t got that much upper body strength you just have to look at my torso and Simon’s torso you can see the difference....I don’t know why they keep giving us yellow spandex and blue spandex. Why can’t you give us black spandex so we look like the milk tray man a little bit cool, not like Big Bird from Sesame Street and a Smurf?’
Simon added ‘That’s got to be one of the most terrifying experiences that I’ve had since I’ve been here....This one I felt like quitting....I had Joe opposite me and saw that he was feeling it just as much as me....The way I worked it out was I’m going to watch his feet so that I’d know where to put mine, kind of like ballroom dancing.’
