The next morning, the teams are told that there would be a Bushtucker Trial and each team would have to nominate someone as the camps once again went head to head.
With the Away Camp desperate to earn some food they set about discussing who they should nominate.
Tensions mounted as Robert and Esther disagreed on who should be picked.
Esther said: "Robert thinks that Nic would go for it. I think Carly is not the most confident in the world and I think itâs good for her to have this opportunity."Â
Whilst Robert said:Â ââIt was difficult and started to get slightly fraught ...Esther wanted to unpick the decision and have another discussion and that gets me a bit irritated and I said right get on with it.â
The team finally decided that Carly would do the challenge.Â
Over in the Home Camp, the team hoped to continue their winning streak and opted for presenter Dani Behr.
Greeted by Ant and Dec, Dani and Carly were told the rules to âLong Dropâ.
They were placed in two Perspex boxes, one red (Dani) and one yellow (Carly). On the roof of the boxes were 5 tubes that contained stars attached to the screw caps. In each tube they would find a key which would open one of the tubes.
As well as the stars, each tube contained a host of jungle critters including cockroaches and grasshoppers which would be released.
The final box contained a lever and the first person to reach the box and pull the lever would win. But there was a catch - each box was suspended 200 feet over the valley, and the loser would be dropped out of the box and left dangling.
Harnessed up, the girls stepped into their box and the trial began. Both determined to be victorious, they were neck and neck throughout. Carly edged into the lead when Dani almost faltered as the bugs started crawling on her and nipping her leg, âLittle buggers biting me, climbing up my shorts! I can feel them his is weird.â Regaining her composure, she managed to open the box and quickly gained on Carly.
Having previous revealed that she has a fear of everything, Carly was unfazed by the bugs as they crawled on her. As both girls reach the final box at the same time its presenter Dani Behr who was victorious and managed to pull the lever a millisecond before rival Carly, who was then sent plummeting out of the box.
After the challenge Ant and Dec revealed that it was so close between the two, they had to watch an action replay to see who had won.
Talking about the challenge Dani admited âthat was funâ and not as scary as she thought it would be. Carly said that she enjoyed being dropped out of the box, but gutted that she had not managed to win a decent meal for her team. She also revealed that she plans to give her rations to her team mates.
Returning to camp, the rest of the team were thrilled that Dani won and were looking forward to another nice meal.
Although unsuccessful, Carly said that she now felt that completing her first Bushtucker Trial meant she could be herself in the group. Having earlier shed a few tears in the Bushtucker Telegraph she admitted to feeling stronger within herself.
âBy me doing this trial Iâve proved that Iâm stronger than I thinkâ she said.
And commenting on her teamâs disappointment at her loss she said: "I think they are a lot hungrier and disappointed than I thought, (but) they havenât said anything."
